Don Loveridge Peet 1920 ~ 2009 Our beloved Don Loveridge Peet passed away peacefully on April 10, 2009 in Lehi, Utah. Don was born on Jan. 10, 1920 in Lehi, Utah to Thomas Leon and Iris Loveridge Peet. He was the youngest in his family and had an older sister Gail, and another sister Leona who died at a young age. Don married his sweetheart, Fawn Hirst on Feb. 8, 1947 and they started their home in Lehi, Utah. Don and Fawn started their family in 1953 and have four sons, three daughters (in-law and in-heart). Don was deeply saddened when Fawn passed away in 2005. Don's passion in life was always his family, friends, and community service. After graduating from high school, Don worked in the family construction business until he entered the Army-Air Corp where he served for 4 years and was stationed in the South Pacific and the East Indies. He then graduated from the Postal Management School and joined the Postal Service where he was employed for 32 years. After retirement, Don worked with Fawn in the management of the Community Education program in Lehi for many years. He also served in a number of positions in the Church. He was a member of the Lehi Civic Improvement Association for 50 years. He and Fawn were honored as the Grand Marshals of the Lehi Roundup Parade in 1994. He was skilled at plastering, carpentry, and other construction trades. He and Fawn loved to do fun projects with their children and grandchildren. Don loved to go hunting and fishing and instilled a love of the outdoors in his children. He enjoyed many years traveling with his wife and summer vacations and camping and fishing trips with his children. Don's family loves him and will miss him. He has shown us how to be an outstanding husband and father, valued and trusted friend, and dedicated citizen of his community. He is survived by his four sons and their wives: Harvey and Debbie Peet, David and Lesa Peet, Alan and Nancy Peet, and John Peet; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grand children. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lehi City Cemetery, 400 E. 1100 No., with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends and family may call for visitation at the Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main, Saturday from 12:30 p.m.-1:45 p.m. prior to the graveside.
