new year
Resolutions 2008
so i've decided to make these as official as i can. and short of a trip to the copyright office this blog seems good to me. so here are my new years resolutions. along with explanations. lets start with the first one. not my normal order but these were random placed anyway.
1. listen to the scriputes in the car
Vanessa got me cd's of the entire standard works, Book or Mormon, Doctrine and Covenents, Pearl of Great Price, Bible. yeah she even added the book "jesus the christ". so i can listen to them in the car on my way to and from work. yay! finaly somthing to keep me awake.
2. play the violin in a public setting, or make some videos
public setting would be like a stage performance where i make tons of money.. or even a little simpler such that i could just grab the violin and play on a street corner, the latter could be almost more fun (and tax free). the videos would be "you tube" quality and the subject matter would be me playing my violin.
3. keep my 3.0 gpa
thats a nice goal, and i sort of just happend upon it. since i've been married my gpa has gone way up, i've never had a 3.0 before. but for the past two or three semesters i've managed to raise my cumulative all the way to 3.0 and i think it would be nice to keep it there. thats just a lot of words really...
4. get out of credit card debt
i've got enough of other type of debt to deal with, and the credit card stuff isnt very deep, seems very doable to me. especialy if i get a raise.
5. get certified at something techy
i think it would be a great stratigic move for employment, and life skills. i changed my major to parks and recreation with the plan of getting technical certifications and working in an office when it's too cold to play on the cliffs.
6. find a job and make 13.50 an hour, or salary equvilant
really i'm not asking enough, i did the math once and for me to just "pay the bills" i need like 20 an hour. all i'm asking is to reduce the angle at which i am diving.
7. finish the dishes when i start them
i have a bad habit of washing a few dishes and then stoping with a few more left sitting dirty on the counters... we dont have much counter space. so i think it would help if the dishes were done.
8. read a book in spanish, or find a friend or have a spanish day every week
i speak a language that a lot of other people speak. and i need to practice that language or i'll stop speaking it. i think the spanish day would be alot more fun than the other choices. i just think it would be fun to look at people when i start speaking to them and they dont understand. it'll be like telling someone how the fix a mac computer.
9. update my blog weekly at least
look i'm starting my new year off on a good foot. lets see how well i hold up.
