well just as a means to write this down so that i wont forget. i'm taking a environmental education course... and it feels like i;m in the mtc again. i wrote then that it was like drinking water from a fire hose. and then my next question is why isn't all of school lke that? i think it has something to do with what we talked about today.
science and religion. their purpose and such, also how they are alike and different. whats up with the whole intelligent design in schools thing and why evolution is soo important but they fail to mention that the time line is different as well.
i think we summed it up that science isnt evil, and neither is religion. but religion should be taught in a since class because it would require too much time and because we would want to be fair to all religions. yeah.
we also talked about how science works. and why it should be a verb rather than a noun. and what a paradigm is and why thats not just important for science but also for students. the cycle of building a theory from scratch, adding to it and making modification to keep it "up to date" and possibly getting a new one because the old one just has too many whole and a different way works better, thats called a paradigm shift. it's also called revolutionary science.. it's tough to do. remember the history of the model of our solar system. and how our planet is shaped. is it flat, round, soild or hollow?
and then if science and religion seem to play soo nice together why is there all of this controversy? and i say it's because of the selfish power hungry political people.
i also got to just sit and watch a tree grow today. that was fun. i think i'll check back next week and see how much it has changed.
